Technically speaking, Hamilton Leithauser & Rostam isn’t a band just yet, but instead a collaboration partnership between Hamilton Leithauser, best known as frontman for the indie rock band The Walkmen, and Rostam Batmanglij, best known as frontman for the indie rock band Discovery. The two leads have hashed together their songwriting and performance skills into a superduo whenever they can get away from their other commitments.

The partnership of Leithauser and Rostam began when Rostam co-wrote two songs on The Walkmen’s album “Black Hours” (2014). In 2016, they wrote another single together, “A 1000 Times,” which was featured on “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert” while their song “In a Black Out” was picked for an Apple iPhone 7 commercial. This spurred them to compose a full album, “I Had a Dream That You Were Mine” (2016), credited to both of them. The album has enjoyed universal acclaim and ranked highly by music journalist publications including Paste, Pitchfork, American Songwriter, and The A.V. Club.
