Chris Rock
Chris Rock was born on February 7, 1965, in Andrews, South Carolina. Rock is widely known for his standup comedy, including standup specials Kill the Messenger (2009) and Never Scared (2004). He served as a cast member for Saturday Night Live from 1990-1993, and hosted the show in 1996 and 2014, during the show’s 40th season.
Rock’s television career has included winning Primetime Emmy awards for his standup specials Bring the Pain and Kill the Messenger. He won Grammy Awards for Best Comedy Album for Never Scared (2006), and Best Spoken Comedy Album for Bigger & Blacker (2000), and Roll with the New (1998). He has also won Emmy Awards for his late-night talk show, The Chris Rock Show. The Chris Rock Show ran from 1997 to 2000 on HBO. Chris Rock also created Everybody Hates Chris (2005-2009).
His film credits include roles in The Longest Yard (2005), Grown Ups (2010), and a voiceover in the hit movie Madagascar (2005).
