Melanie C
Melanie C was born Melanie Chisholm on January 12, 1974 in Merseyside, England. She is perhaps best known for being one of the members of the famous “Spice Girls” group in the mid-1990s. She’s also produced her own albums, including “Northern Star” and “Goin Down.” The latter ranked #10 on charts in the United Kingdom in 1999.
Known as “Sporty Spice,” she and the Spice Girls won Best Pop Act and Best Group at the 1998 MTV Awards, and she picked up several other MTV Europe Awards for Best Song, Best Female, and Best New Act in 2000. Melanie has also had an extensive TV career. She appeared in episodes of Lorraine, EastEnders, and Top of the Pops in the early 2000’s. Interestingly, one of her most recent appearances reunited with the Spice Girls was at the Closing Ceremony of the London 2012 Olympics, where she and the Spice Girls performed “Wannabe” and “Spice Up Your Life.”
