Andrew Weatherall
Andrew Weatherall, born Andrew James Weatherall on April 6th, 1963 in Windsor, England is a British producer, DJ, and remixer. He began his DJ career at a club called Shoom alongside fellow producer and DJ Danny Rampling. The duo started their own record label called Boy’s Own Recordings in 1990. They released two singles under the label: “Raise (53 steps to Heaven)” and “Substance.”
Andrew began to work as a remixer when he, along with Paul Oakenfold, was asked to remix the song “Hallelujah” for the band Happy Mondays. He then went on to remix “World in Motion” for the group New Order along with many other remixes. He has worked with artists such as Bjork, Primal Scream, The Orb, The Future Sound of London, and My Bloody Valentine.
In 1993 he started a new record label called Sabres of Paradise. Along with Keith Tenniswood, Andrew created the electronic music duo Two Lone Swordsmen and created three new record labels. Since 2001 he has produced 14 albums, EP’s and mixes including his debut solo EP in 2006 called The Bullet Catcher’s Apprentice.
