Ashes Remain
Ashed Remain is a Christian alternative rock band, breaking the typical mold for gospel music. So much so that many reviewers don’t seem to notice the “Christian” part; indeed, some of their songs are just plain alternative / grunge without noticeably different lyrics. The band line-up is Josh Smith (lead vocals), Rob Tahan (guitar), Ryan Nalepa (rhythm guitar), Jon Hively (bass), Ben Kirk (drums).
From 2004 to 2017, Ashes Remain show solid top-40 rankings in all Billboard Christian charts. The band formed after Smith and Nalepa met at Bible camp, played about starting a band, and later won the Philadelphia Regional Christian Artist Talent Search 2003. Their first two albums were self-released; their later two on contract signed to Fair Trade Services and then BEC Recordings, respectively.
