Kierra Sheard
Kierra Valencia “Kiki” Sheard was born on June 20, 1987 in Detroit, Michigan. She is the daughter of popular gospel singer Karen Clark Sheard. Kierra’s career began in 1997 when she sang on a couple of tracks for one of her mom’s albums, including The Will of God, which won her a Stellar Award for Best Children’s Performance.
Kierra released her first album titled I Owe You in 2004. She took some time off to finish high school, but returned with her next album called This Is Me in 2006. This album included her popular hits Why Me?, Yes, and This Is Me. The entire album was a huge hit with fans and critics, and it got her nominated for a Grammy Award for the Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.
Other albums of Kierra’s include Bold Right Life, which contains her most famous song God in Me. She released an EP and titled it Kiki’s Mixtape in 2009, which included some of her hits as well as a Christmas song that she collaborated on with Marcus Cole. She also appeared in the movie Preacher’s Kid in 2010, and she and her family had one season of a reality show on BET in 2013 called The Sheards. Kierra continues to make music and has released several other albums.
