Darren Aronofsky
Darren Aronofsky was born on February 12, 1969 in Brooklyn, New York. An often risky director, Aronofsky has made his mark in the entertainment world. After training at Harvard University, his first project was his senior thesis film Supermarket Sweep (1991). This won several awards. He is best known for the work that he did on Requiem For a Dream (2000) and Black Swan (2010), which are both known for being controversial films. Despite the buzz, he was nominated for an Oscar Award for his work on Black Swan. He also won a Golden Lion Award for his work in 2008’s The Wrestler. Some of his more recent projects include Noah (2014), Aftermath (2017), and Mother! (2017). His filming style tends to focus on characters that have self-destructive tendencies or obsessions to keep the audience drawn in.
