Will Young
Will Young is a British musician and actor born in Wokingham, England on January 20, 1979. He is best known for winning the first season of the ITV talent contest Pop Idol in 2002. The show was watched by over 14 million people. Young was studying musical theater at Arts Educational School but put his education on hold to become a contestant on the show Pop Idol. After winning the competition he released his debut album in 2002 titled From Now On which became the fastest selling debut single in the UK and reached number one on the music charts in the UK. The album sold 1.1 million copies in its first week of release. He has since released the albums Friday’s Child, Keep On, Let It Go, Echoes and 85% Proof. All of his albums have reached the number one spot or the number two spot on the UK Albums Chart. He has also made appearances in shows and films like Mrs Henderson Presents, Top Gear, Skins, Marple: The Mirror Crack’d from Side to Side. Bedlam, A Night With Will Young, and Strictly Come Dancing. Throughout his career he has been nominated for a number of awards and has won two Brit Awards among others.
