Gerard Way
Gerard Way is an American singer, songwriter, musician, and comic book writer born in Summit, New Jersey on April 9, 1977. He is best known as the lead vocalist and co-founder of the rock band My Chemical Romance. He is also the co-founder of DC Comics’ Young Animal imprint. Way started singing at a young age and made his first performance playing Peter Pan in a school musical. In 2001 he helped form the band My Chemical Romance with Matt Pelissier in Newark, New Jersey. Together they released four studio albums, two live albums, three compilation albums, and six EPs before disbanding in 2013. They have sold over 8.5 million albums and 8 million singles worldwide. In 2014 Way released his debut solo album titled Hesitant Alien. Way co-created a cartoon in 2001 with Joe Boyle called The Breakfast Money. In 2013 he made his television directorial debut on the show The Aquabats! Super Show!. Way has also been writing comic books since he was 16 years old.
