Gina Prince-Bythewood
Gina Prince-Bythewood was born on June 10, 1969 in the United States of America. Gina started her career in the film and television industry as a writer for South Central and A Different World. The first film she wrote was the hit romantic drama Love & Basketball. Love & Basketball earned her an Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay. In 2008 she had her debut as a film director in the adaptation of the best-selling book, The Secret Life of Bees.
In 2014, Beyond the Lights premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival. Gina has many projects she is currently working on including the adaptation of Roxanne Gay’s novel An Untamed State. Gina and her Husband, Reggie Rock Bythewood, created a show titled Shots Fired on Fox.
