Ana Bárbara
Ana Bárbara is a Mexican musician, songwriter, actress, model, and television personality born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico on January 10, 1971. She is a leading female figure in regional Mexican music and is one of the few regional Mexican acts to gain a following Internationally. She started singing from a young age inspired by her sister who was a popular local singer. In 1988 she was in the local Miss Universe sponsored Miss Mexico beauty pageant and won the local competition. In 1993 she was named the Ambassador of Ranchera Music and also was awarded the El Rosto Bonito de El Heraldo de Mexico Award. In 1994 she was signed to the label Fonovisa and in 1994 released her debut studio album self-titled Ana Bárbara. She has since released the albums La Trampa, Ay, Amor, Loca de Amar, Yo Soy La Mujer, Te Regalo La Lluvia, Los Besos No Se Dan En La Camisa and others. Throughout her career she has released eleven studio albums, eighteen compilation albums, and over thirty music videos and has sold over 6 million records in Mexico, Central America, South America, and the United States. She has also been in the shows and films Todo Contigo, Marido en alquiler, Amores Verdaderos, Una Familia con Suerte, La Escuelita VIP, and Mujer, Casos de la Vida Real. She has received a number of awards, including Latin Grammy Awards, Juventud Awards, Oye Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards and more.
