Arlissa
Arlissa, born on September 21st, 1992 in Hanau, Germany is an English singer and song writer currently based out of the U.K. She began writing music while in high school. At the age of 19 she signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation management and then gained a recording deal with London Records. She cites Kate Bush as her major musical influence.
In 2012 Arlissa was recording an early demo version of her single “Hard to Love Somebody” when the demo gained the attention of acclaimed New York rapper, Nas. Nas loved the song so much that he asked to be on it. The song was released and made BBC Radio 1’s record of the week in November 2012. Arlissa’s first official single called “Sticks & Stones” was released in 2013. The song peaked at number 48 on the UK Singles Chart. In 2013 she also signed with Capitol Records UK. In 2014 Arlissa released the single “Stay Up All Night: with DJ Netsky.
