Aunty Donna
Aunty Donna is an Australian comedy group formed in Melbourne, Australia in 2011. The group’s members met at the University of Ballarat Arts Academy while attending school there and started the comedy group. The members are Mark Samual Bonanno, Broden Kelly, and Zachary Ruane as writers and performers, Sam Lingham as a director and writer, and Max Miller as the filmmaker. In 2012 they performed their debut show titled Aunty Donna in Pantsuits that was nominated for a Golden Gibbo Award at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. They performed their second show that same year titled Aunty Donna and the Fax Machine Shop that won the People’s Choice Award at the Melbourne Fringe Festival. In 2015 they performed their third show titled World’s Greatest Showbag. They have created several web series like Aunty Donna’s Rumpus Room, 1999, and Aunty Donna’s Ripper Aussie Summer. Their YouTube channel where they post their web series has a following of over 200k subscribers. They also tour around Australia and perform their live show at places like Edinburgh Festival Fringe, Melbourne International Comedy Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, and others. In 2018 they released their debut album titled Aunty Donna – The Album that reached number 30 on the ARIA Albums Chart.
