Carla Morrison
Carla Morrison is a Mexican indie-pop singer and songwriter born in Tecate, Baja California, Mexico on July 19, 1986. She had a love for music from a young age and at 17 years old moved to Phoenix, Arizona to study music at Mesa Community College. In 2009 she released her debut EP titled Aprendiendo a Aprender that was produced and released independently. Two of the songs from the EP “Lágrimas” and “Esta Soledad” were featured on the television show Soy tu Fan. In 2010 she released her second EP titled Mientras Tú Dormias that was produced by Natalia Lafourcade. Morrison released her debut studio album in 2012 titled Déjenme Llorar. The album was nominated for a Grammy award and won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The single on the track with the same titled also won a Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Song. In 2013 she released the EP Jugando en Serio and in 2015 released her second studio album titled Amor Supremo. She received a third Latin Grammy Award for Best Alternative Song in 2016 for the song “Vez Primera.”
