Charlamagne tha God
Lenard McKelvey, better known by his stage name, Charlamagne Tha God, was born on June 29,1980 in Charleston, South Carolina. His evolution into a household name began with an internship at a local radio in South Carolina. His energy, sense of humor and honest take on things earned him the adoration of fans and radio producers alike. His first big break was becoming the second mic on a show hosted by Wendy Williams. He eventually left for New York to be part of the radio show, Breakfast Club. The Breakfast Club also helped him build a reputation as a television personality through its television simulcast on Revolt.
He went on to host MTV New Year’s Live in 2013 in 2014 in Times Square. He published his debut book Black Privilege in 2017, which was sixth on New York Times list of bestselling hardcover nonfiction books. He is now the host of MTV’s Common Sense With Charlamagne Tha God.
