Colin Kaepernick

Colin Kaepernick was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 3, 1987. He is a quarterback with the San Francisco 49ers from 2011 until 2016. The 49ers drafted him in 2011. In the next two years, he led the team to the Super Bowl XLVII.

He went to the University of Nevada, Reno and played safety. He stepped into the role of quarterback in the team’s fifth game. He set a school record while playing for the Wolf Packs.

He served as backup for the team’s starter during his first season. He took over as the No. 1 quarterback in 2012. Kaepernick became a free agent in the 2017 season. GQ named him as the Citizen of the Year in its December issue. He was also a finalist for Time’s Person of the Year.
