D-Train
D-Train is a music group based out of Brooklyn, New York. Its members consists of James “D Train” Williams, born James Nelson Williams on January 21st, 1962 and Hubert Eaves the 3rd. D-Train focuses on the musical genres of electronic dance music and R&B. James and Hubert met during high school and began performing together in the 1980s.
In 1981 D-Train released their first single called “You’re the One for Me.” The track instantly hit number 1 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 1982 the duo released their self-titled debut album to critical success. The single “Keep On” reached number 2 on the Hot Dance Club Play chart. In 1983 D-Train released their follow up studio album entitled Music. In 1984 the single “Something’s on Your Mind” entered and peaked on the Billboard Hot 100 at number 79 and number 5 on the R&B Billboard Chart. In 1985 the group released a greatest hit album entitled You’re the One for Me-The Very Best of D Train.
In 1986 James continued D Train as a solo gig after the departure of Hubert Eaves. In the same year he released his debut solo album entitled Miracles of the Heart. The single titled “Misunderstanding” reached the Billboard R&B Top 10. In 1988 he released the follow up album entitled In Your Eyes.
