Daddy Yankee
Ramón Luis Ayala Rodríguez was born on February 3, 1977 in Río Piedras, Puerto Rico. He is best known as Daddy Yankee. Ayala sings, writes songs, raps, act and produces records. The New York Times once referred to him as the the King of Reggaetón.
Daddy Yankee’s album Barrio Fino made history as the top-selling Latin music album from 2000 to 2009. He won the ASCAP Awards (2006, 2014, 2017), Billboard Music Awards (2005), Billboard Latin Music Awards (14 times), Latin American Music Awards twice, Latin Grammy Award five times, Lo Nuestro Awards eight times, MTV Video Music Award (2013), and Premios Juventud fifteen times.
