Daniel Gillies

Born in Canada to parents from New Zealand, his family relocated to their Native New Zealand when he was young. Moving from new Zealand to Sydney and then from Sydney to Canada and then again from Canada to Los Angeles, his career took off in 2004 with his role in Spiderman 2 where he portrayed John Jameson alongside Tobey Maguire.

Gillies is best known for his portrayal of Johnny Wickham in Bride and Prejudice as well as his directorial debut in Broken Kingdom, which he also produced and starred in. He then went on to play Dr Joel Goran, a lead role in Saving Hope as well as Elijah Mikaelson, a recurring role in The CW’s The Vampire Diaries, a role he then reprised in the Originals.
