David Ayer
David Ayer was born on January 18, 1968 in Champaign, IL. Ayer is a screenwriter, director and producer, working in film. He served in the United States Navy in the years of 1986-1988. His first screenplay, U-571, was inspired by his time in the US Navy. Shortly after U-571 premiered, he worked on the screenplay for The Fast and Furious and Training Day. In 2003, the well-known film S.W.A.T was released, which was Ayer’s story pitch and then later wrote the screenplay.
Ayer wrote and directed the box office hit, End of Watch, which was the 4th best film of 2012. Most recently, Ayer wrote and directed the comic book adaptation Suicide Squad. Suicide Squad grossed an astonishing $745.6 million in the box office.
