David Tennant
David Tennant was born on April 18, 1971 in Scotland. He started his acting career at a very young age performing in commercials and plays. His first professional part was in a touring group known as The Resistible Rise of Arturo Uiith. His acting really began in theatre where he played at the Dundee Repertory Theatre, Royal National Theatre, and with the Royal Shakespeare Company.
During this time, Tennant was also in TV programs. His first role on TV was for BBC on Takin’ Over the Asylum. He also appeared in He Knew He Was Right (2004), Blackpool (2004), Casanova (2005), and The Quatermass Experiment (2005). Not only was Tennant appearing in TV programs but also in film, in 2003 he was in Bright Young Thing and in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. In 2005, he became the Tenth Doctor in the Doctor Who series and played in that role until 2013.
Tennant has won a variety of awards including a National Television Award, Critic’s Circle Theatre Award, Constellation Award, Daytime Emmy Award, along with many others. Tennant became a member of the Royal Shakespeare Company since 2008.
