Deontay Wilder
Deontay Wilder birthplace is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama and he was born on October 22, 1985. He became popularly known as the Bronze Bomber. He started his boxing career in 2005 at the age of 20.
In 2007, he became the U.S. Amateur champion, and he also won the National Golden Gloves. He joined the Olympics in 2008 and won a bronze medal.
Wilder made his debut as a pro boxer in 2008. In 2012, he won the vacant WBC Continental Americas heavyweight title.
He won the WBC world heavyweight title by unanimous decision in 2015. He was the first fighter born in the U.S. to hold the title since Shannon Briggs who earned the belt in 2007. He has successfully defended the WBC heavyweight title since 2015.
