Dont’a Hightower
Dont’a Hightower is an American football player born in Lewisburg, Tennessee on March 12, 1990. He is currently an outside linebacker for the New England Patriots of the National Football League. He played football in high school at Marshall County High School in Lewisburg, Tennessee for the Marshall County Tigers. While in high school he was selected to play in the U.S. Army East West All-Star Game in San Antonio, Texas. He went on to play college football at the University of Alabama from 2008 to 2011. In 2012 he was selected by the New England Patriots in the first round, 25th overall, in the 2012 NFL Draft. He signed a four-year contract for $7.72 million with $6.28 million guaranteed and a signing bonus of $4.05 million. In 2016 the Patriots exercised the fifth-year option on his rookie contract. In 2017 he signed a four-year contract with the Patriots for $35.5 million with $17 million guaranteed and a $10 million signing bonus. Hightower became a three-time Super Bowl Champion with the Patriots. Throughout his career he has recorded 434 tackles, 20 quarterback sacks, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, and 13 pass deflections.
