Doug Stone
Doug Stone is an American country music singer and songwriter born in Marietta, Georgia on June 19, 1956. He grew up in a musical family and at seven years old opened for the country singer Loretta Lynn. As a teenager he found gigs at local venues and bars. He was discovered by a record label manager while singing at Veterans of Foreign Wars hall and in 1989 he was signed to the label Epic Record. In 1990 he released his debut album self titled Doug Stone that was produced by Doug Johnson. The album was certified platinum after selling over 1 million copies and four of the songs from the album charted on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Stone has since released the albums I Thought It Was You, From the Heart, The First Christmas, More Love, Greatest Hits, Vol 1, Faith in Me, Faith in You, Make Up in Love, The Long Way, In a Different Light, and My Turn. In 1995 he made his acting debut playing Luke McAlister in the comedy-drama film Gordy.
