Eric Burdon
Eric Burdon is an English singer, songwriter, and actor born in Walker, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England on May 11, 1941. He was the vocalist for the rock band The Animals and the funk band War. Burdon had a love for music from a young age and started learning how to play the trombone. He became the lead singer of the rock band The Animals in 1958. Burdon provided vocals for the songs “The House of the Rising Sun”, “Boom Boom”, “Bring It On Home to Me”, “Sky Pilot” and others. He played with the Animals from 1963 to 1968, 1975 to 1976, and in 1983. In 1969 he became part of the funk band War and played with them from 1969 to 1971 and 1976 to 1977. Burdon released his debut solo album in 1977 titled Survivor and has since released the albums Darkness Darkness, The Last Drive, Power Company, I Used To Be An Animal, Lost Within the Halls of Fame, My Secret Life, Soul of a Man, Mirage, Eric Burdon & The Greenhornes, and ’Til Your River Runs Dry. In 1964 he made his acting debut in the film Get Yourself a College Girl and has also had roles and made appearances in the films The Doors, Comeback, 11th Victim, Gibbi – West Germany, The Blue Hour, Nowhere Now and more.
