Eric Cantona
Eric Cantona was born on May 26, 1966 in Marseille, France. He began his soccer career playing as goalkeeper for his local team SO Caillolais. After playing more than 200 games with the SO Caillolais, Cantona joined his first professional club Auxerre in 1981, but he did not make his debut until playing on November 5, 1983. He served in the military for a while, and then rejoined the club and signed a professional contract in 1986. He was penalized for several disciplinary issues over the years before deciding to move to England. He made his competitive debut for Manchester United against Manchester City on December 6, 1992. He retired from soccer in 1997 having won four Premier League titles out of the five years. He is credited for revitalizing the Manchester United Club and he not travels around and gives political speeches, which are oftentimes controversial.
