FKA Twigs

FKA Twigs, born Tahliah Debrett Barnett, is a British recording artist and dancer who has been actively releasing music since the early 2010s. She released her debut EP, EP1, at the end of 2012, which was released to critical acclaim. The EP debuted not only her forward-thinking take on electronic R&B, but also the visual focus of her work, featuring music videos for all four tracks on the EP. The released EP2 the following year, which featured production from experimental electronic producer Arca. She released her debut full-length, LP1, in 2014 to universal acclaim on Young Turks. Featuring on dozens and topping several year-end lists, the album was praised for its strong songwriting, singularly futuristic production, and her light yet powerfully controlled voice. She released another EP, titled M3LL155X, in 2015 in tandem with a long-form music video that featured every track on the EP. The EP enjoyed similarly universal acclaim as LP1, earning praise for its deconstructions of songwriting structures, continuing her streak of innovative and influential works in the genre.
