Flotsam and Jetsam
Flotsam and Jetsam is an American thrash metal band formed in 1981 in Phoenix, Arizona. The group’s current membership consists of Eric A. Knutson, Michael Gilbert, Michael Spencer, Steve Conley, and Ken Mary. The group’s past membership consists of 11 individuals.
The band began touring in local California clubs and gained the opportunity to play with bands such as Megadeth, Armored Saint, Alcatrazz, Malice, Exciter, Mercyful Fate, Riot, Autograph and Icon. In 1985 the released two demo tapes called Iron Tears and Metal Shock. They signed a deal with Metal Blade Records after contributing to the Speed Metal Hell 2 and Metal Massacre 7 compilations.
The group released their debut album, Doomsday for the Deceiver in 1986. In 1988 they released the album called No Place for Disgrace. IN 1989 Flotsam and Jetsam signed to MCA Records and released their third album When the Storm Comes Down in 1990. They followed that up with the album Cuatro in 1992. The group went on to release 8 more albums up to 2016.
