Francis Lawrence
Francis Lawrence was born on March 26, 1971 in Vienna, Austria. His family moved to Los Angeles, California when he was only three years old. Lawrence is mostly known as a director, but he is also a producer. He attended Loyola Marymount University for film and worked on the film Pump Up The Volume as a second camera assistant for extra money and credit. He had a few jobs in film out of college and then met up with an old college friend and began working on music videos, co-directing and eventually working with such high profile bands like Aerosmith, Britney Spears, Rihanna, Green Day and many more. He won a Grammy award for Lady Gaga’s music video Bad Romance in 2011. The hits kept coming for Lawrence with his direction of I Am Legend (2007), Water For Elephants (2011) and the extremely popular Hunger Games series including Catching Fire (2013), Mockingjay- Part 1 (2014), and Mockingjay Part 2 (2015).
