Gerald Albright
Gerald Albright was born on August 30, 1957 in Los Angeles, California. He played piano at a young age, but did not fall in love with music until the first time he played a saxophone. He then watched musician Louis Johnson perform and he became interested in bass guitar. He has perfected all of these instruments and switches it up depending on who he is performing with.
After school, Albright worked in-studio with several very well known artists such as Ray Parker Jr. and Olivia Newton-John. He then got associated with Patrice Rushen, who allowed him to join her band as the saxophonist and eventually the bass guitarist. He has toured with some prominent musicians including the late Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, and Phil Collins. He was asked to perform as part of the choir at former president Bill Clinton’s inauguration. Albright has also made appearances on television including Melrose Place and BET jazz shows.
