In addition to his career as an instrumentalist, he frequently arranges music and compositions for film and television productions and also has been known to experiment with electronic music. His tremendous skill has brought him around the world on various tours, and he has crafted a reputation for himself of rarely staying in his home town of Cologne. In May of 2013, Gregor Schwellenbach released the album Spielt 20 Jahre Kompakt through the Kompakt label. The album features tracks on which many instrumentalists play their versions of songs such as “Departures” by Closer Musik and “AG Penthouse” by Triola.
