James Van Der Beek
James Van Der Beek is an American actor born in Cheshire, Connecticut on March 8, 1977. He is best known for his role as Dawson Leery in the television series Dawson’s Creek with Katie Holmes. At 15 years old he asked his mother to bring him to New York City to get an agent to start acting. At 16 he made his debut in the play Finding the Sun and continued to act in plays like Rain Dance, Shenandoah, and My Marriage to Ernest Borgnine. In 1993 he made his debut in television on the series Clarissa Explains It All and has since been in the television shows, As the World Turns, Dawson’s Creek, Criminal Minds, Ugly Betty, How I Met Your Mother, One Tree Hill, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, CSI: Cyber, Modern Family, Pose, and more. He made his debut in film in the 1995 movie Angus. He has also landed roles in the films, Scary Movie, Texas Rangers, Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back, Final Draft, Labor Day, among others. Throughout his career he has been nominated for several awards and has won two MTV Movie Awards, a Teen Choice Award, a San Diego Film Festival Award, and a NewNowNext Award.
