Joe Namath
Joe William Namath, born May 31st, 1943 in Pennsylvania is otherwise known as Joe Namath and is a former American football quarterback and actor. Playing college football for the University of Alabama up until 1964, he also played for the New York Jets and ended his career with the Los Angeles Rams in 1977, becoming an AFL icon.
Briefly a host on his own show, Namath appeared on stage and in films as well as television shows such as The Love Boat, Here’s Lucy, The Brady Bunch and Kate & Allie. He gained the name Broadway Joe was earned after he did productions of Damn Yankees, Lil’ ABner and The Caine Mutiny Court Martial. Most recently he has appeared as himself in the film Underdogs and The Wedding Ringer.
