John Bailey
John Bailey was born on Moberly, Missouri in August 10, 1942. He won the American Society of Cinematographers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2015. He also won the 2001 President’s Award and the 2018 Governor’s Award from the Society of Camera Operators. He also won the Emerging Cinematographer Awards in 2014.
His work on Tough Guys Don’t Dance was nominated for Best Cinematography in 1988. He directed The Search for Signs of Intelligent Life in the Universe (2001), China Moon (1994), Mariette in Ecstasy (1996), and Via Dolorosa (2000). He also worked on the documentary NSync: Bigger Than Live in 2001.
He served as the director of photography for When in Rome (2010), The Way Way Back (2013), A Walk in the Woods (2015), and How to be a Latin Lover (2017).
