Judi Dench
Dame Judith Olivia Dench was born on December 9, 1934 in Heworth, United Kingdom. Her father was the doctor for the Theatre Royal in York, and that made her fall in love with acting. She made her stage debut in 1957, starring in Hamlet. Her first British Acting award came in 1965 when she starred in Four in the Morning. She also won a BAFTA for this role.
Dench won an ACE award for her role in the TV movie Mr. and Mrs. Edgehill in 1985. She has also won supporting actress awards for works such as A Handful of Dust (1988) and A Room with a View (1985). She starred in Shakespeare in Love in 1999, which won her an Academy Award. She won nominations for works like Philomena and Chocolat. She has been an officer of the order of British Empire for several decades and is known as one of the best actresses of all time.
