Just Blaze
Just Blaze, born Justin Smith, is a hip hop producer from New Jersey who has been active since the turn of the century. He first started gaining attention for his production Jay-Z’s 2001 album The Blueprint, a critically revered and commercially massive release that Rolling Stone would later name the #4 greatest album of the decade. Just Blaze’s production on the album included the songs “Girls, Girls, Girls,” and “Song Cry,” both of which would become singles. His success on The Blueprint would earn him production credits on songs such as Mariah Carey’s “Boy (I Need You),” Diddy’s “Tell Me,” and Jay-Z and Kanye West songs for years to come. His most recent production credits include Kendrick Lamar’s “Compton,” and “Freedom,” off Beyoncé’s Lemonade.
