Lemar
Lemar was born as Lemar Obika on April 4, 1978 in Tottenham, North London, England. He began his career on a British talent show called Fame Academy. He placed third on the talent show and was signed to a recording contract by Sony Music. Since his appearance on the talent show he has gained recognition as a singer, songwriter, and record producer.
He has a total of seven albums to date. His first album, Dedicated, was released in 2003. His subsequent albums are: Time to Grow, The Truth About Love, The Reason, The Hits, Invincible, and The Letter. He won The British Urban Act Award in 2004 and 2006. He also won the Best UK Male Award in 2005 and 2006. In 2005 he received the Best Album Award for Time to Grow.
He has performed on episodes of several television series. He has been on: Who’s Doing the Dishes?, The Voice of the Philippines, Sunday Brunch, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Live from Studio Five, So You Think You Can Dance, and De-Lovely.
