Lil Jon
Born Jonathan Smith on January 17, 1971, Atlanta rapper Lil Jon rose to prominence thanks to his affiliation with the group he formed know as Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz in 1997. They released their debut album Get Crunk, Who U Wit: Da Album, and in 2000, Lil Jon began his own label which he called BME Recordings. He then released the album We Still Crunk!, featuring the smash hit “I Like Those Girls”. With his group, Lil Jon & The East Side Boyz released the album Put Yo Hood Up in 2001, followed by Kings of Crunk in 2002. On the production side of his career, he helped produce singles for artists such as “Salt Shaker” by the Ying Yang Twins, “Presidential” by YoungBloodZ, and “Yeah!” by Usher. With the East Side Boyz, Lil Jon would release the album Crunk Juice in 2004, followed by his solo album Crunk Rock in 2010. In 2014, he released the immensely popular single “Turn Down for What” alongside DJ Snake, a song which went three times Platinum.
