Loudon Wainwright III
Loudon Wainwright III is an American folk singer, songwriter, humorist, and actor born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina on September 5, 1946. While working at a boatyard, he borrowed a friend’s guitar and started writing music. He would travel to Boston and New York City and play in folk clubs. While playing he was noticed by Milton Kramer, who became his manager, and signed a record deal with Atlantic Records. He released his debut studio album in 1970 self-titled Loudon Wainwright III. He has since released the albums Album II, Album III, Unrequited, T Shirt, FInal Exam, Therapy, History, Grown Many, Little Ship, Last Man on Earth, Strange Weirdos, Recovery, Social Studies, Older Than My Old Many Now and more. He has released 23 studio albums, 4 live albums, and 6 compilation albums. Loundon has had roles in the television shows and films Saturday Night, Jacknife, 28 Days, Undeclared, Big Fish, The Aviator, Elizabethtown, For York Consideration, Knocked Up, G-Force, Parks and Recreation, Sleepwalk with Me and others.
