Mandisa
Mandisa Lynn Hundley was born on October 2, 1976 in Citrus Heights, California. She studied music in college and finally got noticed when she appeared on American Idol in 2006, where she finished ninth.
Despite not winning American Idol, Mandisa appeared on Live with Regis and Kelly and collaborated with other celebrities at benefit concerts and fundraisers. Mandisa based the title of her 2007 album True Beauty on offensive remarks American Idol judge Simon Cowell made about her weight. She has come out with five other albums since then, including Out of the Dark in 2017.
Mandisa has been nominated for four Grammy Awards, and she won one in 2014 for Best Contemporary Christian Music Album. She was also nominated for six GMA Dove Awards between 2008 and 2010.
