Mans Zelmerlow
Pop Singer Mans Zelmerlow was born Mans Petter Albert Sahlen Zelmerlow in Lund, Scania, Sweden on June 13, 1986. He studied music in high school and participated in the school choir.
He came into the public eye when he was a contestant on “Idol,” the Swedish version of “American Idol” in 2005. He came in fifth overall on the show. After “Idol,” he was on the show “Let’s Dance” in 2006 and eventually won. He also appeared in the Swedish version of “Grease,” which led to a record deal with M&L Records. In 2007, he competed in Melodifestivalen 2007, Sweden’s national final for the Eurovision Song Contest. He ended up placing third, and the song he competed with, “Cara Mia,” was released as a single shortly after the competition. His debut album, “Stand by For…” was released in late 2007, and it topped the Swedish music charts. In 2009, he competed in Melodifestivalen again. He ended up placing fourth. In March 2009, his second album, “MZW,” was released and topped the Swedish charts again. He hosted Melodifestivalen in 2010 and replaced Anders Lundin as the presenter on Allsang pa Skansen in 2011 and 2012. Zelmerlow released his third album, “Barcelona Sessions,” in February 2014. In 2015, he won the Eurovision Song Contest with the song “Heroes,” and released his fifth album, “Perfectly Damaged,” in June 2015.
