Martin Clunes
Alexander Martin Clunes was born on November 28, 1961in London, England. His firt appearance was in 1983 on the Doctor Who episode Snakedance. That same year, he received his first recurring roles which were from the sitcoms No Place Like Home and All at No 20. After both shows ended 1987, he went back to the theater. His friend, Harry Enfield, assisted in getting Clunes his most successful role as Gary in British Men Behaving Badly. Clunes’s performance the show won him a British Comedy Award in 1995 and a BAFTA Award in 1996. Later in 2004, he took on of his most iconic roles as Doctor Martin Ellingham in the ITV drama series Doc Martin, which he continues to act on today. He was also named an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 2015.
