Megan Thee Stallion
Megan Thee Stallion is the stage name for the American rapper Megan Pete, born in Houston, Texas on February 15, 1995. Her mother was a rapper as well and would bring Megan to recording sessions sparking her interest in rapping. She began writing her own raps at the age of 14 but was asked by her mother to wait until the age of 21 to begin pursuing a career in rap. She gained a digital presence after a video was released of her winning in a freestyle rap battle in 2013. She chose the rap name Megan Thee Stallion because growing up she was referred to as a stallion for her tall height and beauty. In 2016 she released her first mixtape titled Rich Ratchet with her first single “Like a Stallion”. In 2017 she released her first EP titled Make It Hot with one of the songs on the EP reaching over four million views on YouTube. She was signed with 1501 Certified Ent. in early 2018 and released the EP Tina Snow. Later that year she signed with the label 300 Entertainment, making her the first female rapper on the label.
