Singer-songwriter Melanie Martinez was born on April 28, 1995 in Baldwin, New York. She got her start in the music business when she became a contestant on “The Voice” in 2012.

While on “The Voice,” she chose to become part of Adam Levine’s team. Her performance of “Seven Nation Army” reached number ten on the iTunes Top 200 Singles chart and number seven on the Billboard Rock Digital Songs chart. Her performance of “Too Close” reached number six on the iTunes Top 200 Singles chart. She was eventually eliminated in the Live Round after making it into the top six finalists. She went on to release her debut single, “Dollhouse,” independently in April 2014. In that same month, she was signed to Atlantic Records. In May 2014, her debut EP, “Dollhouse,” was released and reached number four on the Billboard Heatseekers Albums chart. She released her first single off her debut album entitled “Pity Party” in June 2015. She followed with another single, “Soap,” in July 2015, and her album released in August 2015.
