Michael Shanks
Michael Shanks was born on December 15, 1970 in Vancouver, British Columbia. He studied acting and had a two-year apprenticeship at the Stratford Festival. Shanks had guest appearances on Highlander, University Hospital, The Call of the Wild and A Family Divided. His big break came when he played Daniel Jackson on Stargate SG-1, which won him a Leo Award. He cameoed in Stargate Atlantis and Stargate Universe and appeared in both Stargate movies, Stargate: The Ark of Truth and Stargate: Continuum.
He appeared in Andromeda in 2001 and had guest roles in the series 24, Burn Notice and Eureka. He had lead roles in The Lost Treasure of the Grand Canyon and a guest role in Sanctuary. He later had a recurring role in Smallville and a guest spot in Supernatural. He joined the cast of Saving Hope in 2012.
