Miguel Arteta
Miguel Arteta was born in 1965 in San Juan, Puerto Rico. His first film, Star Maps, received 5 Independent Spirit Award nominations. He later directed television series like Homicide: Life on the Street, Freaks and Geeks, and Six Feet Under. He is also credited with directing episodes of the critically acclaimed series The Office, American Horror Story, and Ugly Betty. He won an Independent Spirit Award for Best Feature under $500,000 in 2001 for his film Chuck & Buck. In 2010 he released the film Youth in Revolt, a comedy that quickly became a cult classic. In the summer of 2017, he was the guest director of the 2017 LA Film Festival, which is where he received the Spirit of Independence award.
