Night Ranger
Night Ranger is a power pop and hard rock band hailing from San Francisco. They were originally called Ranger, but extended their name due to conflict with other bands’ names. The band has been continuously fronted by lead singer and bass guitarist Jack Blades, with original members Brad Gillis (guitar) and Kelly Keagy (drums) enduring through their early 1990s hiatus. Night Ranger has also shared members and stages with artists including Sly and the Family Stone, Ozzy Osbourne, Damn Yankees, Styx, Journey, Foreigner, Ratt, Meat Loaf, .38 Special, and Bad English. Night Ranger’s career has spanned four decades and enjoys international fame, especially in Japan.
Their best-known hit single, “Sister Christian” (1984), charted #5 on Billboard Hot 100 and #1 on the Canadian Singles chart. Three albums from their 1980s output were certified platinum (“Midnight Madness”, “7 Wishes”) and gold (“Big Life”). Their most recent album “Don’t Let Up” was released in March of 2018, as of this writing.
