Niykee Heaton

Singer/songwriter Niykee Heaton grew up outside Chicago, where she experienced a difficult childhood that included alcoholic parents and the death of an older sister when she was twelve. As an escape, she began keeping a journal and writing poetry when she was five and always believed she would become a writer, yet her success as a singer has surprised her. She was first noticed in November of 2012 when she posted a cover of Chief Keef’s “Love Sosa” to her YouTube channel and the rapper gave her a shout-out on Twitter.

Heaton is known for maintaining a strong social media presence, particularly on Instagram, where she posts selfies with clips of her music attached. She is signed to Steve Rifkind and Russell Simmons’ All Def Music and her debut EP, Bad Intentions, was released on September 23, 2014.
