Obscura
Coming from Landshut, Germany, Obscura was formed on 2002. They became known for their critically acclaimed album “Cosmogenesis.” They are known to be an extremely technical death metal acts from Germany. Steffen Kummerer, the band’s founder, took Obscura’s name from the 1998 album of Gorguts. In 2006, Obscura released their debut album “Retribution.”
Together with members Markus Lempsch, Jonas Fischer, and Jonas Baumgartl, Kummerer received good reviews from critics, which led to their signing with Relapse Records. The “Cosmogenesis” had an overwhelming response. Adding to the band’s line up are Christian Munzner, Hannes Grossman, Necrophagist, and Jeroen Paul Thesseling.
