Orenthal James “O. J.” Simpson

Orenthal James “O.J.” Simpson was born in San Francisco, California on July 9, 1947. He played football at the University of Southern California, and he won the Heisman Trophy in 1968.

In 1969, he joined the Buffalo Bills. He was the first National Football League player to rush more than 2,000 yards in one season. He retired from football in 1979 and became a sportscaster for Monday Night Football. He also appeared in the film The Klansman in 1974 and The Naked Gun in 1988.

In 1994, the civil court charged him with murder although he was acquitted in the criminal trial. He received a 33-year sentence in 2008 for kidnapping and armed robbery in 2007. He got out of prison in October 2017 after being granted parole.
